Why wont my ipod charge?

If you owned it for a year or two than the batteries dead you can send it to apple to get a replacement the price depends on the stuff about the ipod like gen and how many gigs if you have a case take it off before you send the ipod in because your not getting it back and make a back up of all of your songs and apps before you send it in because their not sending you your ipod just a replacement.
