I'm thinking of moving to the UK, what are the pro's and cons?

After living in Asia for a year and now back home in Australia, I'm bored and restless. I've visited the UK a few times and loved it there, especially because it's so close to Europe. Financially. I'd have to sell up here and buy a place there, probably in a small to medium sized town, and would have to take my dogs. It's such a big move, I need advice from others who have done it or thought about doing it.
