Birth control pill spotting... HELP!?

I just started on the birth control pill (loestrin 24) last wednesday (8 days ago) after finding out my doc hadnt put in my implanon almost 3 years ago... Yes, i thought i was on bc for almost 3 years!!! But back to the question... I started my pack on the first day of my period, it went away within 2 days and was extremely light. I just had heavy bleeding yesterday, and today i have light spotting. Is this normal for just starting a birth control pill?
