I signed an interspousal transfer deed when my husband and i purchased our home. due to bad credit.?
I signed the grant deed because of bad credit at the time from decesased former spouse. 15 years later my current husband and I are getting a divorce in California where we reside and our home is. a year later after purchasing the house we refinanced to a shorter term loan but i was still not put on the loan or title.. I dont rmember signing the grant deed again. is the original grant deed still in affect from the original mortgage or is it null and void. Me signing that document was not meant to deprive me of my rights to the home. it was for qualifying for a loan initially. My husbands lawyer is waving the original loan interspousal transfer grant deed like I just threw out the baby with the bath water. Am i gonna lose my only savings in the equity of my home because i signed something we wouldnt have been able to get if I hadnt.
