D.U.I. question that i cannot find the answer to, anywhere on the net.. please help?

Ok here's the story..A few months ago I was arrested for suspicion of D.U.I. of course, but this is my first DUI, and just days away now from my court date the whole situation has been a little strange to me. The first thing was, i was in the back of the cop car and the officer came up and said "Here's your choices.. you can refuse a blood test and risk losing your license for 12 months, or you can take the blood test and only risk losing it for 90 days." So I went ahead and said I'd take the blood test, and didnt really think at that time why a breathalyzer was not offered . I hadnt had much to drink but a few beers and a shot, and im a pretty large person so i can consume a lot. When we got to the station I was very polite and cooperative, I was laughin and joking with the paramedic ladies as they drew my blood, the cop never put me in a cell, I stood behind his desk un-cuffed the whole time he was askin me questions about my information, we even started talkin about sports and the local high school football team I used to play for. Eventually he let one of my friends come pick me up from the station and had me go home, only leaving me with the info of my court date, and him telling me my blood results will be mailed to my home. About a month passed and I received a letter from the police department, that turned out only to be a bill for my blood draw which was $36.00. It said nothing of my blood results or my court date. My court date is now a week away and I still have not been mailed my blood results. Most of my friends have had DUI's, and they all spent the night in jail and say my story is strange.. If anyone has faced a similar situation, or can offer any advice, it would be appreciated.
